Where to sell luxury bags in Toronto

We're Retyche. We've been buying and reselling pre-owned luxury handbags for Canadian consignors since 2019. Most weeks, we work with sellers from across the GTA. If you have a Chanel, a Louis Vuitton, or a Hermès you're done carrying, this page is for you.

Here's the short version. You ship your bag to us. We authenticate it. We buy it outright. You get paid in 2 to 3 business weeks. No commission, no waiting for someone to click "buy", no listing it yourself and dealing with returns. We do the whole thing.

Rim and Rita Elias (we're sisters) founded Retyche in 2019. Our flagship is in a Montreal shopping centre, where our team authenticates and processes every bag we accept. We work with consignors and buyers across Canada. We had a showroom in Yorkville from 2019 to 2020, until COVID closed it. Instead of reopening there, we focused on building the Canada-wide business. Since then we've sold over 16,000 authenticated luxury items.

This page walks you through how to consign with us from Toronto, what we accept, how the buyout works, and what's different about us.

How to consign your bag from Toronto

  1. Go to retyche.com/sell and upload 4 to 6 clear photos of your bag: front, back, interior, hardware, brand stamps, any wear. Or send us an email at consign@retyche.com with a photos of the items you wish you sell.
  2. We send you a buyout offer within 1 to 2 business days, based on what your bag will sell for in today's market.
  3. If the number works for you, we email you a prepaid Purolator shipping label. You schedule a pick up or drop the bag at any Purolator location. Free.
  4. We authenticate. Every bag goes through a 30 point manual inspection plus Entrupy AI authentication. We do this on every piece, not just the high value ones.
  5. We photograph it, list it on retyche.com, and put it in front of our 60,000 luxury buyers.
  6. You get paid by Interac e-transfer, cheque, or wire transfer within 2 to 3 business weeks of accepting our offer. Not when the bag sells. When you accept.

What we accept

Handbags and small leather goods from Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Christian Dior, Gucci, Saint Laurent, Prada, Fendi, Burberry, Bottega Veneta, Celine, Loewe, Givenchy, Balenciaga, and Valentino.

Jewelry and accessories from Tiffany & Co., Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, David Yurman, plus Hermès twillys and silk scarves.

It has to be in good condition or better. Some signs of use are fine. Major damage isn't.

All hardware has to work. Zippers, clasps, chains, all of it.

The item has to be authentic. We verify it before paying you. If our authentication process flags a bag as counterfeit, there's a $250 CAD verification fee and you cover the return shipping. If those aren't paid, the bag is destroyed.

If you're not sure whether your item qualifies, send the photos to retyche.com/sell and we'll tell you in 48 hours.

How much you get paid

We buy your bag from you outright. Our offer reflects what your specific item will sell for at retyche.com in the next 30 to 60 days, based on the resale market today.

What goes into our offer:

Brand and model. A Chanel Classic Flap, a Hermès Kelly, or a Louis Vuitton Neverfull holds value over time and will get a strong offer. A trend piece gets less because the demand fades.

Condition. Excellent condition gets the highest offers. Bags with visible wear still sell, just at a lower price.

The current market. We track resale prices weekly, across Canada and internationally, and we price based on what we know we can sell it for.

You'll get a clear written offer in 1 to 2 business days. Accept, decline, or ask questions. No obligation.

Payment is by Interac e-transfer, cheque, or wire transfer, within 2 to 3 business weeks of when you accept our offer.

Why Toronto consignors choose Retyche

You have options in Toronto. Here's what's different about us.

We're Canadian. Founded in Montreal, run by Canadians. We know the Canadian luxury market.

Free shipping from Toronto. We send the prepaid Purolator label.

Buyout, not commission. Most consignment shops list your bag and pay you only when it sells. We buy it outright and pay you in 2 to 3 business weeks.

Real authentication. 30 point manual inspection AND Entrupy AI authentication on every bag, not just the high value ones.

Real people. Our team (we call them our Conseillées) walks each consignor through the process personally. No chatbot at the front door.

A Toronto history. We had a Yorkville showroom from 2019 to 2020. Many of the Toronto consignment shops you see now opened after we shifted online. We've been authenticating bags from this market for a long time.

Toronto and GTA consignors send us bags from Yorkville, Forest Hill, Rosedale, Queen West, Cabbagetown, Liberty Village, and Leaside, and from the suburbs: Oakville, Mississauga, Markham, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, and Burlington. The shipping label works for any GTA address.

How we authenticate

Every bag we accept goes through several checks.

A visual inspection, where our team looks at stitching, hardware, leather grain, stamps, and serial numbers against authenticated reference databases.

A functional check on zippers, clasps, magnetic closures, and chain hardware.

Brand-specific verification. For Chanel, that's the serial sticker, holographic features, and quilting pattern. For Hermès, the blind stamp and craftsmanship signatures. For Louis Vuitton, the date code and canvas pattern alignment.

An Entrupy AI scan. We run this on every bag, not just the high value ones, because we want every authentication backed by a second layer of verification.

If we can't verify a bag is authentic, our counterfeit policy kicks in (see the FAQ below).

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Toronto residents consign with Retyche?

Yes. We accept submissions from anywhere in Canada, including Toronto and the entire GTA. We provide free prepaid Canada Post shipping labels.

How does Retyche determine my buyout offer?

We look at current resale prices for your specific item, considering brand, model, condition, and demand. We send you a clear written offer in 1 to 2 business days. The offer reflects what we believe we can sell it for in the next 30 to 60 days at retyche.com and our Montreal flagship.

How long does the process take from submission to payment?

Usually 3 to 4 weeks total: 1 to 2 business days for our offer, 2 to 3 days for you to ship, 3 to 5 days for us to authenticate and process, then payment within 2 to 3 business weeks of when you accepted.

What if my bag isn't accepted?

If your bag doesn't meet our condition standards (but is authentic), we ship it back to you. Free, via Canada Post. No charge for declined items.

What happens if I send a counterfeit bag?

If our authentication process flags a bag as counterfeit, we charge a $250 CAD verification fee, and you cover the return shipping. If those aren't paid, the bag is destroyed. We don't take this lightly. If you know your bag is real, this doesn't apply to you.

Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Dior, Gucci, Saint Laurent, Prada, Fendi, Burberry, Bottega Veneta, Celine, Loewe, Givenchy, Balenciaga, Valentino, Tiffany & Co., and Cartier. If your brand isn't on the list, ask us. We evaluate case by case.
